THE WAY

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son,

that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.

DISCUSSION AND DECISION

What does it mean to be saved?

Being saved means to be saved from sin and eternal death. John 3:17. Romans 5:9.

1 Corinthians 5:5. Titus 3:5.

What are the alternatives? Is there more than one way to heaven?

Jesus said that if anyone attempted to enter by any other door than Him (Jesus said, I AM the door), that person is a thief and a robber (John 10:1). Jesus introduced Himself as the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). Acts 4:12 tells us that there is no salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven [besides Jesus] whereby we can be saved.

Who needs to be saved?

Everyone needs salvation. All have sinned, and the wages of sin is death. Romans 3:23 and Romans 6:23.

Can salvation be earned?

Ephesians 2:8–10 tells us that we are saved by grace through faith and not through our own efforts. Then it goes on to say that good works will follow our salvation experience.

What must I do to be saved?

Romans 10:9-10 tells us that if we confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in our heart that God has raised Him from the dead, we shall be saved.

Can I know for sure that I am saved?

When you are saved, the Holy Spirit comes to live within you. He will lead you and assure you that you are a child of God, the Heavenly Father. Romans 8:14–17

Can I lose my salvation?

You cannot lose your salvation without an act of your own will. John 10:28 promises that no man can take you out of His hand. Romans 8:38-39 outlines all the forces that cannot prevail to separate us from the love of God. But passages of scripture such as the book of Jude serve to warn the believer against backsliding. Luke chapter 15 gives a clear picture of the Lost Son who chose to separate himself from his father’s household. Jesus uses this story to illustrate to the Pharisees and scribes how Israel had backslidden and that the Son of God had come to seek and to save that which was lost. Hebrews 4:4–6 is a clear picture of a person who was saved, but then turned against the Lord and forfeited his salvation.

Does God choose who will be saved and reject those that He doesn’t want?

Many scriptures throughout the Bible make it clear that God wants all people to escape judgment. 2 Peter 3:9 tells us that the Lord is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. John 6:37 says, “he that cometh unto Me, I will in no wise cast out.”

THE SINNER’S PRAYER

“Dear Heavenly Father. I confess that I am a sinner and that, without Your help, I am bound for an eternal hell. I believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins and He paid the FULL PRICE for my salvation. I now proclaim that Jesus is the Son of God and I accept Him as my personal Savior. Because of the power of His resurrection, I shall live with Him forever. Please help me, by Your Holy Spirit, to live the Christian life every day while I am in this sinful world, and help me to become involved in spreading the Good Word of Salvation. In the Name of Jesus. Amen.”

GOD’S PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
